Cape Verde belonged politically to Portugal until 1975 and is now an independent African island state with a democratic legal form. According to the FDFA, Cape Verde is considered a politically stable destination. The visa requirement for Swiss citizens has been lifted for stays of up to 30 days. However, journeys must be registered in advance - o Ritmo will take care of this.

We took part in the dance and culture trip as an inexperienced dance couple. On this trip we got to know and love the Kizomba dance style with a lot of joy and fun.
As well as dancing, we were also able to get to know the lifestyle and culture of Cape Verde better. The encounters with the local people touched us deeply and left a mark on our hearts. o Ritmo shows Cape Verde as it is.

"We were on Cape Verde for 2 months as a family with two small children, organised by o Ritmo.

We had a very varied programme and everyone got their money's worth. Our trip was super organised and the choice of accommodation was perfect for us! We particularly enjoyed the remote fishing village of Tarrafal on the island of Santo Antao, where we were able to surf, fish and enjoy life on the beach. Cape Verde is very child-friendly and we had lots of great encounters with the locals. The excursions from o Ritmo don't feel "touristy", you feel like you're travelling with local friends. We would recommend Cape Verde and the two women from o Ritmo at any time!

As I'm still "indulging" today, I should write a few lines:

It was a really great, special, impressive time, full of excursions, dance training, food, etc. There are very special moments that remain unforgettable, such as kizomba dancing in the sand by the sea, a boat trip to a deserted little marvellous village with an equally mystical beach, where not a single tourist was sunbathing.... wonderful meals, guided tours of special neighbourhoods etc.

This mixture of dance, music, culture, food and free time was perfect and very much to my liking!!! Of course, we were also lucky to be a great group; as different as we were, we were all in a pretty good mood - thank you very much, keep up the good work!!!

In October 2019, we travelled through Cape Verde with o Ritmo. The trip was a wonderful and impressive adventure. In just ten days we got to know and feel these beautiful and interesting islands with their generous and friendly people. We travelled through breathtaking landscapes in shared taxis, stayed in very stylish and clean accommodation (and were often able to listen to the sound of the sea as we fell asleep), had personal contact with the locals, tasted traditional dishes, explored the underwater world while diving and experienced the fascinating landscape with all our senses on hikes.
The trip was extremely authentic and absolutely unforgettable.
